Company remains determined after court denies petition; plans appeal and further legal action with industry allies
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – December 23, 2025 – Private Party Impound, LLC, a Kansas City-based private towing company, today announced it will appeal a Jackson County court ruling that denied the company’s petition for declaratory judgment and injunctive relief against the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jackson County, Missouri (Case No. 2516-CV19144). The decision, issued by Judge Lauren D. Barrett, is a setback for the company’s challenge of a new towing ordinance, but Private Party Impound emphasized its resolve to continue the fight for fair treatment of private tow operators.
“While we are disappointed by the court’s ruling, we remain steadfast in our commitment to this cause,” said Allen Bloodworth, Managing Member of Private Party Impound, LLC. “We firmly believe that private tow operators deserve to be treated fairly under the law. This fight is far from over – we will press on with an appeal and do everything in our power to ensure a level playing field for our industry.”
In the wake of the ruling, Private Party Impound has immediately begun work on the appeals process and is preparing additional legal actions in collaboration with other parties who have standing. By joining forces with fellow towing companies and concerned stakeholders, the company aims to strengthen its case and address what it views as unfair regulations impacting the towing community.
